Passing by Rimshung Monastery and Uchhecholing Monastery, we climb up along the trail and visit Sagarmatha National Park. You can have the internet access here. Moving forward, we cross Larbha Dobhan and taking a further step ahead, we will witness the first view of Mount Everest. Climbing up the path, we are finally at Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar is the main gateway to Everest, you will find colorful Khumbu villages, Banks, Money Exchanger, Internet café and overall all the facilities you can find in the city. On Saturday, a special market appears here, people come here to sell their products and buy things necessary for them. Our accommodation would be in a tea house or lodge on full board basis.
This day is the rest day as we need enough time for acclimatization; however, if you are willing to hike for some time then we take you to famous Everest View Hotel that takes around 3 hours to catch glimpses of Mt. Everest. On our way back, we'll visit Hilary and Sherpa museum. You will get teahouse or lodge accommodation in full board basis.
Our trek to Dhole begins from Namche as we follow the trails via Khyangjuma with few short up and downs. A little ahead from Khyangjuma, comes Sanasa, where shines our beautiful giant peak, Mount Everest. The trek is quite strenuous as we need to cross Mong La, a wonderful land residing on the lap of Mt. Khumbila. We continue down to Phortse Thanga, and little further from here appears the Dhole National Park Check Post. Tasting the Flora and fauna of this region, we pass by some waterfalls and enter Dhole. Dhole is a small settlement with few tea houses. We stay in a teahouse at Dhole for overnight where we get full board meals.
From Dhole, we climb up steadily to Lhabarma following the Dudh Koshi River. The pathway till Lhabarma is steep and full of thorny bushes. The trail offers a dynamic view of Cho Oyu, Kantega, Thamserku and we reach Luza, a small charming village at an altitude of 4360m. Again, we ascend to Machhermo via Luza that lies at an altitude of 4360m. The track is full of sand spurs, and as we reach Machhermo, the beautiful stream flowing down from Kyajo Ri and Phari Lapche leading to Dudh Koshi River is seen. The valley, high above the river, also consists of the Himalayan Rescue Hospital, the hospital provides with classes for altitude sickness, causes, prevention techniques and treatments. We stay in Machhermo at night where your accommodation would be on full board basis in teahouse or lodge.
Finally trekking to our main destination, Gokyo, we climb through the Chorten ridge and reach Phangga. An avalanche occurred here in the year 1995. The valley so beautiful at the bottom of Mount Kantega and Thamserku can be seen nicely from here. Also, the northern part of Mount Cho Oyu residing at height of 5200 is simply overwhelming.
Gokyo has always been famous for the sparkling Lakes and mountain. Taking in the glorious view of Mount Chadoten and Ngozumba Glacier, we arrive at the First Gokyo Lake called 'Lonspunga Tso' lying at the height of 4710m. This azure lake and the rays of sun over it is much too eye-catching. The Lama footprints on the stones are also something to notice here.
After ascending for a while, we reach the Second Lake, Taujung Tsho residing at 4728m with its shimmering beauty. Moving little further from the second lake, the third lake, Gokyo Tsho (4734m) appears right in front of us.
Cherished by the lake views, we step ahead for Gokyo village, standing on the edge of third Gokyo Lake. Wakened by the charming beauty of these lakes, we spend the night at Gokyo in a lodge where your accommodation would be on full board basis in teahouse or lodge.
The day is for our important point of trekking i.e. acclimatization, without it, the travel would be hectic and a disaster. In order to familiarize with the altitude and environment here, we take rest. But, if you are still interested in hiking, we explore Gokyo at its best by traveling towards Gokyo Ri, the famous peak lying at 5483m. Filled with excitement and bliss, we walk to find the fourth (Thonak Tsho) and fifth (Ngozumba Tsho) lake. From the fifth lake, Cho Oyu Base Camp and the world's biggest Ngozumpa glacier is seen in its perfection. The sixth lake Gyazumba Tsho at the bottom of the Cho Oyu can also be hiked if you are still keenly interested to explore more.
On the way down to Gokyo, we trek to Gokyo Ri (5483m). Gokyo Ri another magnificent point to view the mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang and Makalu gleaming in our eyes. After the excitement being fulfilled, we trek down to Gokyo and stay here for an overnight. Your accommodation would be on full board basis in teahouse or lodge.
Walking through the Ngozumpa glacier, hearing the sounds of the falling iced rocks into the small glacier lake, we start our trek towards Thangnak early morning. In sunny days the ice melts and it becomes more difficult to walk. With some ups and downs, we reach Thangknak. We climb uphill towards Cho La Phedi and return to Thangnak where we stay for overnight. Your accommodation would be on full board basis in teahouse or lodge.
Today's trek is a tough one as we need to cross Cho La Pass (5420m). We climb uphill and reach a glacier traverse on the eastern side that needs to be crossed carefully as there are slippery iced rocks. Upon reaching Cho La Pass, a dazzling view of Ama Dablam and Cholatse is seen. There are chances of rock falling over here as well. We move downwards and little further from Cho La, there lies a danger crevasse, also the path is slippery which makes the crossing a difficult one. Taking in good precaution, by the use of crampons, we move down towards and arrive at Dzongla.
From Dzongla, the view of the north face of Cholatse is awesome again and we stay overnight here. Your accommodation would be on full board basis in teahouse or lodge.
After hot breakfast at the lodge, an easy downhill for a while and few up and down to the Lobuche. After refreshment looks around Everest glacier and overnight at the lodge at Lobuche.
Initiating our trek to Everest Base Camp, the height of our destination, we move straight forward with rocky dunes, moraines and memorials of Indian Armies. Also, we find the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. With mountains like Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori appearing around you, we reach the Everest Base Camp. If you are here on trekking season, you will find mountaineers who had their temporary climbing set up at the base camp. Accomplishing the trek to the height of 5364m, we descend towards Gorakshep and stay there. Your accommodation would be on full board basis in teahouse or lodge.
The trek to Kala Patthar starts early morning as we are to witness the first light over the Mount Everest from Kala Patthar. The sunrise this beautiful and adoring is rare to experience. There are chances of chilly wind as well. So, we head towards Kala Patthar (5550m), a well-known destination to spot Everest view. Not just the Everest, but also, Ama Dablam, Kangtega, Thamserku and Taboche view is simply awesome from here. Beautiful Changri Nup Glacier and Changri Shar Glacier are marked from here. You will plunge into the enchanting views everywhere around.
After spending a good time here, we descend to Gorakshep and again head down towards Pheriche walking along the previous path till Dughla. As the path is downwards, it is quite easy to complete the journey. With the view of Cho La glacier on our way, we reach Pheriche and stay an overnight here. Your accommodation would be on full board basis in teahouse or lodge.
Pheriche to Namche is also an easy going route as it involves descending through the path. The route is surrounded by stone walls, you will then pass Jignang Kharka, Pheriche Pass and head down towards Orsho crossing the Imja River. We then reach Pangboche where a famous Pangboche Gompa exists. Then, we head down towards Deboche, where the office of National Park and a health post exists. Stepping over the stone steps, we reach Tengboche and visit the Tengboche Monastery there. If we visit Tengboche during the full moon of November or December, the Mani Rimdu festival can also be seen that depicts the culture of the people living here. On our way to Namche, strolling along the rhododendron and juniper trees, we enter the place called Phunke Thanka, where an army barracks lies. We cross the well-decorated bridge over Dudh Koshi River and trail descends through pine forests. Then, we reach Sansa where we will notice wildlife of snow leopards, mountain goats, pheasants and others. Heading from here, we reach Khyangjuma and little further from here is the first viewpoint of Ama Dablam, Lhotse Shar, Taboche, Kangtega and Thamserku. Descending towards Namche, we find Tenzing Norgay Stupa and finally arrive at Namche, our destination for today. Your accommodation would be on full board basis in teahouse or lodge.
Walking down from here, we pass the Everest viewpoint and Larja Dobhan. Following back the same trail towards Lukla via Phakding and the same glorious views as well the Sherpa valleys around, we step in Lukla. Coming nearer to the point of beginning of this wonderful journey, we enjoy the last memories of our trek with verdant greeneries all around. We will stroll around the Lukla and also reconfirm the flight ticket on this day. Rejoicing the very last moments of our Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo, we celebrate and have dinner with the crew members. We stay in a hotel at night where you will get meals on full board basis.
We will take in Lukla to Kathmandu flight that is around 30 to 40 minutes. You will meet the team of Imperial Nepal who will drop you at the Hotel you stayed before (unless changed). As this is the last day, we enjoy the farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with live music and rejoice the moments.
The representatives from Imperial Nepal Treks will drop you to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and assist you in your final departure from Kathmandu. We bid our last goodbyes and you will head towards your destination.

- To prepare for a strenuous trek you should begin training at least two to three months before your departure. Our trek to Gokyo is an experience I will treasure forever. From the breathtaking views to the delicious food and rich culture, every moment was unforgettable. The entire journey was impeccably organised, and it was such a relief not to worry about accommodations or where our next meal would come from—everything was taken care of. Even when things didn’t go exactly as planned, our guide Shiva ensured that the best possible outcome was always achieved, going above and beyond to make sure we had a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Imperial Nepal....Simply the BEST!
Apr 2024 • Friends

Our whole EBC / Gokyo Lake experience was 1st class.
From the time we chose to contact Imperial Nepal, Ram contacted us very promptly and was immediately invested in doing everything he could to arrange a journey to suit us. He certainly understood what we wanted and put a great plan together - trek objectives and other inclusions, including Pokhara. The trek itself was amazing, made so by our fantastic guide Shiva and porters. Shiva certainly got to know our group, our personalities and walking habits. He blended all this so that we all enjoyed the journey. Shiva's communication throughout was great - we all knew what to expect and timings etc. Following the trek. weather conditions didn't favour our Pokhara option, but Ram personally met with us and offered alternatives for us to enjoy. Throughout, Ram was always personally available to do whatever was needed to meet our needs. Thanks Ram.
I highly recommend Imperial Nepal to anyone trekking Nepal.

I cannot speak more highly of Imperial Nepal, it's owner, Ram and our guide, Shiva. We spent 19 days trekking to EBC, Gokyo and to two of the high passes. We also spent another seven or eight days in Nepal with Ram organising local tours and internal flights for us.
Ram tailored our time in Nepal to meet our needs and found alternate places for us to go when poor weather prevented us from getting to our intended destinations.
We stayed three nights on Gokyo..best thing we ever did.
We commenced our journey with Ram about 12 months before we arrived in Kathmandu. He would always respond promptly to any queries we had during the time we spent organising our trip.
He met us when we first arrived at our hotel and he saw us off when we left for the airport.
Shiva, our guide was fantastic. We were briefed each night. We knew what was coming our way each day and where we needed to be at the end of the day. It was never a rush to get there. So we got to enjoy the sights at our own pace.
Shiva knew so much about the mountains, the history and the culture. He is a very unassuming person. We all had so many laughs. It was great to get to know him on a personal level.
Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Trek Apr 2023 • Couples

We completed the Everest Base Camp + Gokyo Trek with our guide, Gautam, and had a wonderful time. The views were just stunning… it almost felt like we were on another planet!! The team really took care of us and made sure we were comfortable everywhere we stayed. If you have the fitness, don’t mind adding a few extra days to your trek and want to experience the trail with less crowds then I’d definitely recommend adding the Gokyo trek onto EBC. From the very beginning, even when arriving in Kathmandu, the staff were very accommodating and made things so easy for us.
We loved the experience so much that at the end we rested for a few days then booked the Annapurna Circuit trek with the same company!
Most amazing Nepal experience Apr 2023 • Solo

I had perhaps my most amazing trekking trip so far with Imperial Nepal Tours! I did EBC and Gokyo trekking, as well as a tour of Kathmandu. All was easy and smooth to book and organise, all my requests were taken into account, thanks to Ram, my tour manager. The trek was an incredible adventure thanks to my wonderful guide Dinesh - I visited breathtaking places and had so much fun! At all times I felt secure and very well cared about. I just can’t wait to be back for another trekking tour with you, guys!
My unforgettable Everest Base Camp Trek including Gokyo Lakes Mar 2023 • Friends

My 18 day trek to Everest Base Camp included the magnificent Gokyo Lakes and the very famous Chola Pass. Our incredibly experienced, fun, friendly guide, Hari, knew every single mountain peak, every trail, every teahouse and almost every guide and porter that we passed knew our Hari! Every step we took was under the watchful eye of Hari, helping us negotiate trails that were covered in snow and ice. He was truly the best guide you could ever wish for. We encountered some unexpected and unprecedented weather conditions that added some extra challenges to our trek, but Hari never wavered in his positivity and confidence in us to get over The Pass and onto Everest Base Camp.
We were a small group of 3 trekkers, I am a very inexperienced trekker but never once felt I would not achieve my dream of reaching Everest Base Camp because Hari was our voice of positivity and always encouraging us that our dream was possible. Our amazing porters Ghobinda and Prashanta were so patient, unbelievably fit and the most kind and happy porters you could ever have. In many areas of the trek where we needed extra help, they would both come back after dropping our heavy bags off, and help us navigate our way safely until I was capable of letting go of their hand. WE DID IT!!
My unforgettable Himalayan Trek Mar 2023 • Friends

I had an incredible 18 day trek to Gokyo Lakes and Everest Base Camp including the Cholo Pass. Our expert guide Hari was an incredible leader, safely guiding us through snow and ice and making new tracks due to the snowfall, never once doubting that we couldn't make it. I am a very novice trekker and can't thank the team enough at Imperial for the way in which they conducted the entire trek.
Our porters, Ghobinda and Prashanta were so patient, kind and helpful, and always smiling. I cannot recommend this tour company more highly. Do yourselves a favour and book your Himalayan Trek through Imperial.
Awesome trek with great team! Mar 2023 • Solo

Although I was a solo trekker, I joined 2 awesome ladies from Australia who had the same trek with similar dates. Hari was our guide, along with Prassan and Gobinda as porters. 17 days total, hiked up to Gokyo, then over Cho La pass, then to Everest Base Camp and back.
The trek was AWESOME. Unbelievable views, great people, simply iconic.
Of special note - we had an amazing team. Hari (our guide) was fantastic. Not only extremely knowledgeable - and funny - but was able to maneuver when we had a complications, specifically a few days of bad weather. He was able to encourage us to keep going, modified the itinerary when rest days were needed, and overall handled unforeseen circumstances with finesse and skill. And he kept us smiling the whole time! Truly a master of his craft - I cannot recommend him highly enough as a trekking guide.
Prassan (the porter I was paired with) was also amazing. Possibly the nicest, most patient guy I've ever met, even while carrying a huge load! He's training to be a guide himself someday and will be wonderful at that. Also cannot recommend him highly enough as part of anyone's trekking team!
Gobinda was quiet, but a true machine. Both Prassan and Gobinda - several times - hiked ahead to our destination, left the packs, then hiked BACK to the group and helped us through difficult sections of trail. Hard to believe how hard these guys worked to make sure our group had a successful trek.
Honestly I can't say enough good things about the team. If there was ever an "A" team, this was it!
Imperial trekking helped make the experience seamless and truly unforgettable. Paris, who helped with the planning and admin side, made sure all details were taken care of and the experience was smooth. I would absolutely recommend this trekking company to anyone interested in a Nepal trek!

Everest Base camp via Gokyo and Cho La - January 2019

I highly recommend Imperial Nepal for booking your EBC trek. Everything was organised perfectly and communication was excellent from the moment I booked till I left Kathmandu.
Paras and Ram were very helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly during the trip. Hari was an excellent guide and took great care of us during the trek.
Booking with a tour company is a must for first-time trekkers in the Himalayan region and Imperial Nepal will take good care of you!

Private group of 3 -- Gokyo+EBC - November 2018

3 of us had an awesome 16 day Gokyo+EBC trek. Need to congratulate Ram and his team for that. Every activity from pickup at Kathmandu airport to hotels, to tea house accommodations and guide/porter service was immaculately organized. Our guide Nirmal was very helpful in modifying our day-to-day activities based on our trekking capabilities and catering to our needs. Our porters were excellent as well. Had awesome vies of Everest and surrounding 8000mts peaks from Gokyo Ri and Kala Patthar.
Would love to recommend Imperial Nepal Treks to everyone. Atleast I'm coming back to do the Annapurna circuit with them in few years.

Gokyo Lakes and EBC: dreamed trek!! - October 2018

I’ve been wanting to do this trek for a long time. I contacted Imperial Nepal way before I came to Nepal. Since I’m a solo traveller and literally, this has been my dream trip for so long ... I wanted to plan it properly and visit Bhutan as well. I just finished my masters, so my budget was a bit tight from the beginning and Ram, the owner of the agency, helped me so much! He got from the beginning my vibe and what would I like for my trip. Therefore, all of the arrangements and suggestions ended up exceeding my expectations! I’m so grateful that I chose Imperial Nepal not only because they made the hike and my trip to bhutan an amazing time, but my whole stay in Nepal ( 1 month) a dream come true! I’m already planning my Annapurna trek for 2019 with them! Can’t wait!

Trekking to Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes - April 2017

From the moment locally based Imperial Nepal Treks and Expeditions picked my friend Peter and I (Greg) up from Kathmandu International Airport through to dropping us back 26 days later, we were both so happy that we chose INT from the myriad of Kathmandu and internationally based trekking companies that offered their services to us for our trek to Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes. INT's all inclusive price was very competitive and turned out to be excellent value for us. We are from Sydney, Australia and experienced hikers and trekkers.
Our accommodation before and after the trek was centrally located in Thamel and was of the highest standard and together with our guided day tour of Kathmandu's major historical and religious destinations was a great introduction to the company and our trip.We met Paras, our tour manager, over breakfast to go through final arrangements and then attended a welcome dinner with our guide Dinesh prior to our departure. We were made to feel like family and everything we expected and hoped for over the ensuring weeks exceeded our expectations.
Dinesh is a fantastic guide, highly experienced, extremely knowledgeable, patient, all most as funny as us, and by the end of the trip we considered him to be a great bloke and a mate. Deservedly high praise from Peter and I.
Our return flights to Lukla, all our meals and accommodation and all our needs and necessities were taken care of by Dinesh. Heavy snow meant we were unable to cross high passes originally on the itinerary. No worries, after discussions with Dinesh and on his advice we were back down and up valleys and reaching our intended destinations with the minimum of fuss and without any problems. Dinesh took care of everything and were were able to see magnificent mountain scenery and stay in fantastic village tea houses along the way. A truly memorable experience in a unique part of the world.
So if your planning an adventure holiday in Nepal the best advice I can give you is to include Imperial Nepal Treks and Expeditions, Paras and Dinesh, on your short list of companies to make your inquiries and if you decide as we did to go with INT then I am sure you will have both a safe trip and an unforgettable experience in Kathmandu and on the mountain trek of your choice.

Good Experience - August 2014

During my stay in Kathmandu, with two of my friends, I met the employers of this company while I stayed in Hotel Blue Horizon.
We talked about trekking because we were interested in the Everest Base Camp Trek. They have lot of experience in trekking and that is why we decided to do the trek with one of their guides. They also heard our wishes what we would like to see during the trek, for us we would love to see the Gokyo valley.
The trekking was very good organised and we really enjoyed the trek, we stayed in nice lodges. The guide knew a lot about the mountains and the mountain culture.
So I can recommand everybody to plan a trek at this company
